    Bliss Yoga Studio Book Club

    We are so excited to announce our Book Club. You may have seen a sign-up sheet posted at the front desk. Cristina Lopez is an avid reader and has participated in and hosted book clubs many times. She is our organizer and moderator!

    We will be kicking off the book club with Yoga and the Pursuit of Happiness (ISBN 978-1626252875), Cristina’s choice as one of her favorite and familiar “yoga” books. She will get us going with some good discussion prompts.

    There will be two meetings:

    Sunday, February 5, 3:30 - 4:30 pm

    Sunday, February 19, 3:30-4:30 pm

    Deepen your practice and get to know your fellow yogis! Join us for discussion based on the book Yoga and the Pursuit of Happiness. We'll address a few very important questions: "What's up with the Self?" "How do I make that Self happier?" or "How do I stay receptive to the Self which is the source of happiness?"

    To participate, please get yourself a copy of the book and then simply show up on the first Sunday (February 5th) a few minutes before the starting time of 3:30 pm. Doors will open at 3:15 pm. Everyone is invited. Light refreshments will be served.

    Bio: Cristina Lopez has been practicing yoga for five years. Her day job is at the University of Minnesota, where works in educational technology. Yoga book clubs combine many of the things she is most passionate about: reading, good conversation, and of course, yoga.

    New Year's Intention Celebration December 31st

    A few spots still remain open for our annual New Year's Intention Celebration. This Saturday December 31st from 1 - 4:30 pm, we will gather for a simple restorative yoga practice, a guided meditation that will help you "see" into your next year and clarify your vision for what you long to manifest. And then, provided with all the materials and lots of encouragement and support, you will create a "Vision Map" that symbolizes your intentions for the New Year 2017!

    The Sanskrit word for intention is "Sankalpa" which expresses a deep heartfelt longing and resolve to purposefully create and manifest from the wholeness of who you are already. It's a practice of giving yourself loving support and clarity for living your life to its fullest expression.

Ayurveda Fall Rejuvenation and Cleanse

Ayurvedic  cleansing is about creating a life-practice that can heal, nourish and sustain you so that you transition from one season to the next without feeling the effects of the seasonal changes. Many cleanses offer magic-bullet, fast-acting approaches but they do not address the deeper imbalances of body, mind, and emotions for the long term. An Ayurvedic cleanse helps to cultivate a foundation of optimum health and balance. It works in a subtle, deep way to prepare you for the upcoming season and beyond. A fall cleanse is not a fast- it helps to nourish the tissues and satisfy the mind as you release toxins (ama) from the body and undigested thoughts from the mind.

As we move into the fall season, it’s the ideal time to embrace the Ayurvedic principals for sustainable health to prepare for the long Minnesota winter. The fall rejuvenation cleanse is simple and easy to follow no matter what your schedule. And you will not be hungry!

In this three-hour workshop, we will explore what Ayurveda is, discover our own Prakruti (body type) and where we are imbalanced (Vikruti). We’ll make a delicious batch of kitchari for lunch and review the cleanse that will last approximately 21 days. You will have support throughout the cleanse through a closed Facebook group and 24/7 email and phone support. There will also be Ayurveda products available for sale at a discount.  (Space is limited so please enroll early)
